Mrs Stables moved to Bishop Auckland from Perth having trained as a dietitian in Aberdeen. Having spent the first 18 years of her career working clinically in a number of organisations in the North East including Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside she moved into general management.

During this second part of her career she has managed a wide range of services across acute and community settings. Mrs Stables also has a wealth of experience in business development, contracting and project management. In 2010-11 she was project lead for NHS South Tyne and Wear during Transforming Clinical Services, which brought together the acute services in South Tyneside and the community services across South Tyneside Sunderland and Gateshead in 2010/11.

Mrs Stables has a passion for operational services and is currently also a Divisional Director at South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust. She gains most satisfaction through being able to influence the quality of care provided and the improving patient experience.
